Abstract

U radu je prezentirana SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) tehnologija. Objašnjena je njezina uloga pri kreiranju vektorske grafike za web, posebno u kontekstu intreaktivnih web aplikacija. Prati se cijeli proces dizajniranja takvih aplikacija: od strukturiranja samog SVG dokumenta, kreiranja osnovnih oblika i apliciranja raznih efekta, upotrebe tekstualnog sadržaja, te postizanja interaktivnosti kroz ugrađenu SMIL tehnologiju i kroz primjenu skriptnih jezika, kao što je JavaScript. Svaka je faza popraćena primjerima koji ilustriraju razne primjene ove tehnologije, kao i njezine mogućnosti. Sintaksa JavaScripta, koji je skriptni programski jezik, u potpunosti je različita od sintakse mark-up jezika kao što su XML ili SVG, te je iz tog razloga posebno istražena. Naglašen je XML kao tehnologija na kojoj se SVG bazira, te su navedene prednosti koje to donosi. Iz rada se može vidjeti kako je budućnost SVG-a, kao vodećeg formata za interaktivnu vektorsku grafiku na webu, obećavajuća.

Abstract in english: In the paper, SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) technology is presented. Its role in creating the vector graphics for web is explained, especially in the interactive web applications’ context. The whole designing process of these applications is observed: from structuring SVG document, creating basic shapes and applying various effects, to achieving interactivity through the built-in SMIL technology or scripting languages like JavaScript. Each of these phases is explained through examples that illustrate different applications of this technology, as well as its different possibilities. JavaScript, that is scripting programming language, has a completely different syntax from the syntax of the mark-up languages, like XML or SVG, and it is especially explored. XML as base technology of SVG is particularly emphasized, and all the advantages that it brings are described. From the paper it is possible to see how bright the future of SVG, as leading format of interactive vector graphics for web, really is.
