Abstract

Digitalna fotografija je sastavni dio naše svakodnevice. Razvojem tehnologije i sve većom upotrebom računala, digitalnu fotografiju nalazimo u svim aspektima ljudskog života.

Abstract in english: Digital photography is part of our everyday life. With development of technology and increasing use of computers we can find digital photography in all aspects of our life. Digital photography can be made by using digital camera, but it is also a product of image scanner. Usually scanners are used to digitalize flat two-dimensional objects. It’s mostly used to digitalize paper documents, either for archiving or further manipulation, reproduction, and printing or for publishing on Internet. Except for traditional uses, scanners can be used in creative photography which is the subject of this paper. Scanography is technique that uses scanner as replacement for digital camera. Scanner can be used to make photos of small objects in natural size or zoomed all of that with great resolution. Scanners can also be used as cheaper alternative for macro photography. Since scanners are meant to be used for flat objects digitalization, they have really small depth of field and build in unchangeable source of light. Also making a scan can sometimes take more that couple of minutes. In relation to digital photography all of that can be seen as disadvantage, unless, it’s used in a creative way. Practical part of this paper describes how to use advantages and disadvantages of image scanners in order to get interesting photographs and effects that cannot be achieved by using traditional or digital camera.
