Abstract
Primjena i način upotrebe vektorske grafike u različitim web tehnologijama je u stalnom razvoju u skladu s razvojem programskih preglednika i ureñaja. U radu se pristupa istraživanju mogućnosti vektorske grafike u HTML5 tehnologiji. Zasebno se objašnjavaju pojmovi vektorske grafike, HTML-a te novosti u HTML5 tehnologiji. Eksperimentalni dio rada sastoji se od izrade web aplikacije za crtanje vektorske grafike pomoću HTML5 programskog koda. HTML5 je nova generacija označnog jezika, pomoću kojega se mogu kreirati složene grafike koristeći standardne tehnologije bez instalacije programskih utičnica (plug-in). Vektorsku je grafiku u HTML5 moguće kreirati pomoću dvije tehnologije: Canvas i SVG. Gotovo svaki grafički element baziran na vektorskoj definiciji može se definirati objema tehnologijama, no ponekad će za taj specifičan zadatak jedna od njih biti kvalitetnije rješenje. SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) je XML derivat jezik koji se koristi za opisivanje vektorske grafike na web-u. Ono je grafički model zadržanog tipa (eng. retained-mode graphics model) što znači da je struktura nekog grafičkog objekta pohranjena unutar memorije u obliku podataka te da je SVG procesor odgovoran za iscrtavanje tog objekta. Canvas je s druge strane grafički model neposrednog tipa (eng. immediate-mode graphics model) što znači da je sama aplikacija odgovorna za prikaz odreñenog sadržaja, pa se podaci ne pohranjuju u memoriju.

Abstract in english: | The application and method of use of vector graphics in diferent technologies is constantly developing along with the development of web browsers and devices. In this paper will be presented the research of the possibilities of HTML5 technology in vector graphics. Also, it will be separately explained the concept of vector graphics, HTML language and the novelties of the HTML5 standard. The experimental part of this paper consists of developing an application for drawing vector graphics using HTML5 code. HTML5 is the new generation of markup languages, using which it can be crated complex graphic scenes without external plug-ins, using just standard technologies. Vector graphics in HTML5 can be created with two technologies: Canvas and SVG. Almost every vector based graphics element can be created with both technologies, but in some scenarios one of them will be the better choice. SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is an XML derivat language which is used for creating vector web graphics. It is a retained-mode graphics model which means that the structure of an graphic object is stored in memory in form of data. On the other hand, Canvas is an immediate-mode graphics model which means that the application itself is responsable for viewing contet and that the data isn't stored in memory. |
