Abstract

Abstract in english: | Today's urban centers are forced to work on their cultural table image every day in order to attract more visitors. Building new, contemporary and modern museums and exhibition spaces, those who are older or built in some previous times are falling into shadow of design advanced and technological supported new museums. There is a lack of innovations in older exhibition spaces arising from the fact that they are often trapped in their own interior which is impossible to modify and extend, for technical reasons, and because of that they lose interest of the audience which will remain deprived of certain curiosities that offers a modern design. A common problem is the lack of information about the exhibits, which both the location and schedule are not connected to each other causing some confusion among visitors. As such, they are getting lost in a sea of modern museums, which along with its own exhibit, offers numerous design solutions, in addition to better indicate the exhibit, its visual attractiveness entertain visitors more significantly. This graduate work will explore the possibility of reviving an earlier exhibition space with specific design solutions. Specifically, it is a Meštrović Atelier in Zagreb. It will be investigated about the opinions of visitors on the advantages and disadvantages of this space. On the basis thereof, shall be proposed design concept that would most favored modernization of the Atelier, and at the same time maintain its emphasis on authenticity and exhibits. |
