Abstract

Abstract in english: | This final thesis relates to rotoscoping, an animation tehnique in which animators draw over video frames. In this way, animated motions are very lifelike, eventhough the animation style doesn't necessarily need to be realistic. Originaly, a special device called rotoscope was used for this tehnique. The animator would draw over frames on the glass panel which contained a cel background. Today, this equipement is replaced by computers and by a variety of digital software. The paper will reflect on the history of this tehnique, a review and short analysis of early rotoscope works and a review of recent achievements. The way of making these animated films will be examined through practical work. A few tehniques of rotocoping will be researched- from hand drawn rotoscopes to digital graphical programes. Also, through practical work will be examined in which way the number of frames per second effects the final result. The paper will also adress the comparison in rotoscoping and the modern motion capture tehnique. |
