Abstract

U doba rata se povećava zanimanje za informacijama, a ratovi obiluju sadržajima koji su zanimljivi za vijesti. No, s druge strane proces sakupljanja informacija je iznimno težak, ne samo zbog neposredne ugroženosti novinara nego i zbog toga što su zaraćene strane svjesne važnosti javnog mišljenja, pa novinarima ograničavaju ili potpuno sprečavaju pristup informacijama, a medijima se koriste kao propagandnim instrumentom. U današnje se vrijeme sve češće moraju angažirati privatne PR agencije u kojima rade stručnjaci za odnose s javnošću, koji su već i ranije sudjelovali u ratu. Upravo je zbog toga bitno analizirati vijesti u medijima kako bi se istražili realni događaji koji su drugačije prezentirani u medijima u svrhu ostavljanja boljega dojma prema jednoj od zaraćenih strana. Sadržaj diplomskog rada je usmjeren na razmatranje političkog komuniciranja i ratne propagande u masovnim medijima, odnosno, općenito o utjecaju masovnih medija na javno mnijenje o zbivanjima u dijelovima svijeta koji su zahvaćeni ratom. Isto tako, naglasak u radu je stavljen na ratna zbivanja u svijetu koja su se dogodila nedavno ili se još uvijek događaju, a sama analiza i istraživanje hrvatskih tiskovina je usmjerena k sakupljanju informacija u periodu od 30 dana nakon napada na WTC 11.9.2001.

Abstract in english: The interest in information is increasing in war times, which abound in information that is interesting for the news. But on the other hand, the process of collecting information is extremely difficult, not only because of the immediate threat to journalists, but also because the warring parties are aware of the importance of public opinion, so they limit or prevent access to information, and they use media as a propaganda instrument. There is an apparent increase in the need for hiring private PR agencies, which employ public relations experts with past war experience. It is therefore important to analyze the news in media in order to investigate the real events that are differently presented with a purpose of creating a better image of one of the warring parties. The content of this thesis is focused on the analysis of political communication and war propaganda, as well as the general influence of mass media on public opinion about the events in warring areas. The emphasis is also laid on the war events in the world, which have occurred recently or are still occurring, while the analysis of the Croatian newspapers includes collecting information, which were published within the period of 30 days after the WTC 11/9 attack.
