Abstract

Abstract in english: | This thesis represents the analysis of history and its moments of huge impact on the development of both American and world photography. The year 1880 and the first appearance of photography in journalist advertisement are considered to be the first moments of that kind. That was also the beginning of raster reproduction, as well as the beginning of new realization of photography and graphic reproduction. The introduction to George Eastman’s Brownie highly affordable camera made photography in general very user friendly. Another step in that direction was the color photography phenomenon in 30’s, as well as its breakthrough in 70’s, and then the invention of digital cameras. This thesis also tells about photographers whose work changed the general perception of photography and started revolution. Among them it’s important to mention Lewis Hine, whose work was a certain way of fight against child labor, Arthur Felling whose work depicted life in a city like New York, and many others. The thesis also pays attention to the development of photography through each decade of 20th century, especially to photojournalism of 60’s – new genre at the time, which remains present and popular nowadays too. |
