Abstract

Abstract in english: | The intention behind the redesign of The Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra’s website was to create a uniquely rich and engaging browsing experience throughout. In order to achieve this it was essential to deliver the content responsively, ensuring a consistent User Experience (UX) across a variety of devices and operating systems. When it comes to delivering this UX to different devices and different resolutions, the profession is facing some heavy challenges, since it is essential to know how a piece of information is going to behave once its context is changed. It is, therefore, essential to thoroughly investigate users and their habits, as some users may predominantly browse the full-screen version of the site on desktop or laptop machines rather than on tablets or mobiles which would serve adapted content. These users might be very sensitive to the absence or lack of information on such devices. These challenges are even greater, since the whole site is running on the content management system Wordpress. Therefore it was really important that the whole content behaves autonomously, in such a way that it does not depend on pre-defined models that could potentially ruin the experience if the client attempts to edit the site’s content on their own. The Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra website now utilises the latest web trends and proven technologies, creating a site that not only provides users with an engaging experience across a range of devices, but also allows the client the ability to update and add content themselves on a platform that is robust and scalable. |
