Abstract

Abstract in english: The theoretical part of this thesis describes the overall principles of medium sized sheetfed offset printing process. Emphasis is put on the mode of operation of a Heildelberg KORS model offset machine and its basic units which engage in the printing process. Furthermore, in the theoretical part, basic terms related to offset printing are described, such as dampening solution, offset ink, printing substrate and conditions and standards for their proper usage and storage. The theoretical part concludes with a review on the future of offset printing. The practical part of the thesis is related to mathematical models which pursue the dynamics of the transport process of printing ink and its distribution to cylinders, dependent on initial conditions. The practical part also contains graphical displays of mathematical solutions from which we have drawn conclusions and shown that they are compatible with already known and experimentally proven regularities describing the dynamics and distribution of ink in inking units.
