Abstract

Svemir i svemirska istraživanja polako postaju komercijalno dostupni.

Abstract in english: Space and space exploration is slowly becoming commercialized. The first private space companies have already begun to research and develop their own space technology, which will, in near future, bring the space closer to masses. More people will go to orbit , for reasearch or tourism purposes. The food has an important psychological impact on a man during his stay in space. It is therefore important that the food is palatable, digestable and nutritious with a long shelf life. On space missions food comes pre-prepared. Together with its packaging it makes a complex system. The first space food was in pure form packaged in aluminium tubes. Aluminium tubes were replaced with packaging made from polymers. Dehydrated foods were initially squeezed from the package and later , as the packaging evolved, were eaten successfully with convencional utensils. Astronauts and cosmonauts now have more than 300 different food items in different packaging. For the future missions to Mars and the Moon, a new systems for food packaging and processing will be needed. Development of new space technologies will certainly improve life on Earth.
