Abstract

Tema završnog rada bazira se na tipografiji i njezinoj primjeni u grafičkim medijima (novine, časopisi, knjige, i dr.) s obzirom na dizajn, čitljivost i ostale karakteristike tipografskog pisma uz primjere. Cilj rada je prikazati važnost tipografije u cijelokupnom dizajnu nekog grafičkog medija i, također uz primjere, prikazati razliku između pravilnog i nepravilnog korištenja tipografije, te (ne)željeni učinak prilikom odabira tipografskog pisma. Vezano uz glavnu temu, rad sadrži povijesni pregled razvoja tipografije do danas, klasifikaciju tipografskog pisma te pregled anatomije slovnih znakova kao uvod za razumijevanje tipografskih pojmova i povezivanje istih sa temom rada.

Abstract in english:	Subject of this final paper is based on typography and its application in various graphic media (newspapers, magazines, books etc.) ,considering design, readability and other characteristics of a typeface with examples. The goal of this paper is to review the importance of typography in overall design of certain graphic media and, also with examples, show the difference between regular and irregular application of typography, and (un)desired effect considering the choice of a typeface. Related with the main subject, this paper contains an historical overview of typeface development, classification, and anatomy examination of letters that form a typeface. The supporting subjects are used as an introduction for easier understanding of various typographic terms, and relating them with the main subject.
