Abstract
Zahtjevan i opasan pristup snimanju predstavlja izazov fotografu i penjaču.

Abstract in english: | Through the theoretical elaboration of the photographic particularity of the portrait photography in sport climbing and the very (specific) nature of the sport itself, the practical part of this work was based on taking photographs of climbers in nature (from below, on the rock, from above) and in a climbing gym (climbing boulder). Demanding and dangerous approach to the shooting presents a challenge for both climber and the photographer. By using technical and syntactic approaches, targeted captures are given a semantic message transferring the climber's emotion onto the viewer of the photograph. The selection of photographs were the basis of a survey taken by a group of active climbers and non-climbers. In the survey, by attaching emotions to photographs we can analyse technical, semantic and syntactic quality of the photographs in terms of transferring the climber's emotion onto the consumer. The aim of the thesis is to point to the possibilities of capturing climber's emotions in a fraction of a second and conveying it to the viewers. Different kinds of portrait photographs are shot as an experiment, so as to be able to compare the results in the end and determine which kind of portrait photography best suits this sport. In this thesis sport and portrait photography were combined. The sport aspect portrays climbing technique and difficulty of a particular sport climbing route, while the portrait aspect is based on the expression of the climber and conveys the climber's emotion. The main hypothesis of this thesis is that a good quality sport climbing photography arises from the synergy of photographic and climbing knowledge and thus enables capturing specific portraits which can be used in sport analysis, applied photography as well as in art photography. |
