Abstract

Abstract in english: This diploma research compared commercial tools for obtaining 3D movement from two-dimensional recording. Inserting modeled 3D objects into video recording is widely applied in film industry and video gaming, but at the same time it is complex and demanding work that requires a lot of knowledge in various tools that make creation of video with 3D models possible. Programs used are Boujou, Pftrack and SynthEyes which are one of most developed programs in this field. 3D models were done in NewTek Lightwave. This is a specific branch of visual effect industry that requires complex and demanding geometric calculations, where any of previously named software’s produces different results under different conditions. Point of this research is to define use of every one of this software’s in defined set of recorded frames that represent most frequent situations where that software is used. Recorded video clips are imported in one of named tools for obtaining movement from two-dimensional record, processed and a 3D model is imported. Processing of recorded video clips in each of these programs is different, therefore right this step of processing is examined in order to see how a certain program provides the same results. Positions of a 3D model, so called “error pixel”, are determined which each of these programs calculates in a different manner. When the value is under 1, it is negligible. In such case when it’s above 1, position of the 3D model is not within recording. Except “error pixel” and position of the model, the speed of each program was also measured.
