Abstract

Abstract in english: Last 50 years there has been a large increase in the types and forms of packaging. Packaging is a protective sheath that wraps the product to minimize the possibility of damage during transportation of products from the production or delivery to the recipient. Selection of packaging materials is an essential element of creating packaging. The packaging material depends on the choice of technology for the production of packaging, quality, appearance, shape, purpose and method of use. The aim of this study is to explore how it can reduce the financial costs of making corrugated cardboard. In the production of cardboard boxes the wave (fluting) formed paper is used. This wave has to withstand a certain load. Our goal is to get the same quality of the wave at lower paper density in relation to paper of the higher paper density, and see if we can save on materials, waste, energy and handling costs. Paper of different weights from which corrugated cardboard is made have been examined. We have examined the mass of paper and cardboards, thickness of paper and cardboard, resistivity edge of the ring of paper on the compressive strength, resistance edge of the ring corrugated cardboard on the compressive strength, resistance of paper to wave to the pressure, the moisture content of corrugated cardboard and paper. Tests were carried out in detail in the Company Model Pakiranja d.d., Zagreb. The results showed that the paper density of 80 g / m² gives greater ECT (corrugated edge resistance to pressing force) as compared to a larger density paper. Measurements have shown that we have managed to cut down on expenses of material, on production of paperboard costs, (energy), and on waste and transport.
