Abstract

Abstract in english: Theme of this bachelor thesis is determining the influence of printing substrate on electrical resistance of conductive printing inks. Conductive inks are printed on three different printing substrates; recycled, coated and uncoated paper. Silkscreen was used as a printing technique, with a semi-automated machine in order to keep the consistency of the prints. Template for print is consisting of lines with variable width and length. Prints are dried once in the IR drier, after which the multimeter is used in order to measure the resistance on the printed lines. After that, the prints are dried three more times in the IR drier, and the measuring is repeated. In the theoretic part of the thesis, materials that are used in printed electronics industry are listed, as well as the idea and usage of functional printing. In the experimental part of the thesis, printing procedure is explained, as well as statistical analysis of the measured values, in order to find a possible correlation of the parameters (substrate, ink age, number of drying, dimensions). It is concluded that the electrical resistance decreases with the increase of number of IR drying. Also, new ink has a lower resistance that the old ink. As expected, dimensions influence the resistance, as well as different substrates. Lowest resistance is on the uncoated paper, with the new ink after the four times IR drying.
