Abstract

Abstract in english: | The aim of this work is to give an introduction into nanographic printing through a description of the nanographic print process, and the inks and the machines used. Nanotechnology is a science of manipulating matter on the atomic, molecular or macromolecular scale. Materials in their nano-form exhibit different essential properties than on a macro-scale: different electronic, optical, magnetic and mechanical properties. Nanography is the new method of printing, developed by Benny Landa, during his study of nanopigments. Nanopigments are strong colorants and absorbents of light and are foundation for NanoInk, water-based ink for nanographic printing. The printing process begins with the injection of droplets of ink on a heated transfer blanket. The water evaporates upon coming into a contact with the blanket, thus leaving a trail of dry, around 500 nm thick polymer film on the surface. Such printing is possible on every surface because the ink is printed dry, without requiring a subsequent drying phase, and as such the imprint is instantly ready for use. The thin layer of the ink on the surface and nanopigments provide a high quality imprint, with optimal use of energy and ink. The printing machines are designed for sheetfed printing (B1-B3 format) and web press. Nanographic printing can be utilized in a variety of graphically printed products; publications, commercial prints, cardboard-box prints and other packaging. |
