Abstract

Abstract in english: | High key and low key pictures are classified as photographic technique. High-key technique implies overcoming light tones in which the details often extract high contrast. Low key is technique of low tones that implies overcoming the dark tones. These are two opposite techniques whose compositions contain overexposed and underexposed tones. Low key photo contains predominantly dark tones and colors, the atmosphere and mood, while the high key image feels airiness and lightness. The histogram in such photos should have most of the tones on the right side, between the medium (gray) markings and far right (white) mark that indicates an off-white tone. Low key photos is usually dramatic and full of mystery. It is necessary to have only one key light in order to determine the direction and exposure. Black and white photography is a popular choice because it really brings light and shadow. It is important to mention that these are photographs of the total low contrast which is expressed only in the local areas of photos, so called points of interest. The thesis contains an analysis of author's photos and a description of lighting setup in the scene. The theoretical part describes the procedure of taking photos and processing images where the tools for digital processing are named. |
