Abstract

U ovom radu proučava se odnos između algoritama za prelamanje teksta, koji se koriste unutar programa Microsoft Word i InDesign te sustava LaTeX. Cilj rada je usporediti različite uvijete prelamanja teksta kako bi se definirale prednosti i mane navedenih programa u usporedbi sa sustavom LaTeX. Obraditi će se tzv. „pohlepan algoritam“ za prelamanje teksta, koji je sastavni dio Microsoft Word-a i posebno dizajniran algoritam sa strane Donald Knuth koji se koristi unutar sustava LaTeX. Tu će se povući korelacija između Metafont-a, Postscripta, LaTeX-a te Microsoft Word-a i InDesign-a.

Abstract in english:	In this paper we are taking a look at the relationship between algorithms for typesetting and text justification, used within Microsoft Word and InDesign and the LaTeX system. The goal of the paper is to compare different conditions of typesetting and text justification, to define advantages and flaws of earlier mentioned software versus the LaTeX system. We will take a look at the "greedy algorithm" for typesetting, which is a building block of a Microsoft Word and specifically designed algorithm by Donald Knuth, used within the LaTeX system. A correlation will be drawn between Metafont, Postscript, LaTeX, Microsoft Word and InDesign.
