Abstract

Skalabilna vektorska grafika (SVG) kao dio EXtensible Markup Language-a (XML) već je duže vrijeme dostupna kao standard za vektorsku grafiku na internetskim stranicama. Grafički se oblici u SVG-u crtaju koristeći objekte koji se opisuju atributima. Kako računalo u memoriju zapisuje samo vrijednosti atributa objekata, nastale datoteke koje sadrže samo vektorsku grafiku većinom su male. Najvažnija pak karakteristika vektorskih grafika je njihova skalabilnost ‒ moguće ih je proizvoljno smanjivati ili povećavati bez gubitka kvalitete, što nije slučaj s rasterskom grafikom. Osim kreiranja statičke grafike, SVG pruža i mogućnost izrade interaktivnih i animiranih sadržaja. U ovom završnom radu prikazana je izrada jednostavnih i složenijih animiranih grafika kojima je cilj obuhvatiti sve elemente animacije dostupne SVG standardom. Isto tako, istražena je podržanost SVG animacijskih i tranzicijskih elemenata u pet različitih web preglednika (Google Chrome, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Internet Explorer) i na različitim platformama operativnih sustava. Na temelju izrađenih grafika opisano je animiranje sadržaja SVG-om i istaknute su njegove prednosti i mane u usporedbi s drugim metodama koje koriste CSS ili Flash.

Abstract in english: Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) as a part of EXtensible Markup Language (XML) has been available as a vector graphics standard for a long time. Graphical forms in SVG are drawn by using forms which are described by attributes. As computer records only the value of object attributes in its memory, created files which contain only vector graphics are usually small. The most important of vector graphics characteristics is their scalability – it is possible to reduce or to increase them without losing their quality, which is not the case with the raster graphics. Besides creating static graphics, it is also possible to make interactive and animated SVG content. This final work will present making of simple and complex animated graphics, as well as all the elements of animation available in SVG standard. Supported SVG animated and transition elements in five different web browsers (Google Chrome, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Internet Explorer) and in different operating system platforms will also be explored. Animating SVG content based on given graphics, so as its advantages and disadvantages, will be compared with other methods which are used by CSS or Flash.
