Abstract

Naziv dolazi od grčke riječi phos (“light") i grapho (“stylus”, ”paintbrush”), a zajedno znače “crtnje svjetlom” (“drawing with light”).

Abstract in english: The subject of this final work is based on the light painting, a photography technique which is based on drawing with the light source during long exposures. The name comes from the Greek word phos ("light") and grapho ("stylus", "paintbrush") or graphi, and together they mean "light painting" ("drawing with light"). During light painting various forms are drawn with the direct light sources, such as battery light, fluorescent tubes, etc., so that the light source could be visible in the lens. The picture shows lightened surfaces, lines and other forms of light that make a diverse and interesting effects. With the movement of the light source the picture obtaine uneven amount of light in some places. With this photography technique objects can be drawn around surroundings, but there coul also be drawn a completely new motive in the picture. This work contains a brief description of the historical development and shooting technique. The work also contains a description and historical development of street art graffiti, in order to accurately approached further procedures of the research. Furthermore, work points to the possibility of joining the two techniques and the research shows the implementation of graffiti art into the technique of light painting and vice versa. Given that this technique of photography greatly shortens the drawing time for the individual work, the possibilities of artistic expression are limited and the work investigates these possibilities and limitations. Comparing the two approaches of implementation, the conclusion is made about the more effective approach to artistic expression. This study contributes to the knowledge of the tools and the method of spatial orientation when drawing with light and ultimate possibilities of connecting two techniques.
