Abstract

Teorijski dio diplomskog rada obrađuje umjetnički pravac nadrealizam, smješten u razdoblju avangardne umjetnosti. Kroz uvodni dio objašnjavaju se političke, povijesne i društvene okolnosti u kojima je pravac nastao, te njegov razvoj i širenje. Obrađuje se i pravac dadaizam, koji je prethodio nadrealizmu, pa se zbog toga smatra i pretečom ovog pokreta. U slijedećim poglavljima kroz biografije umjetnika definiraju se glavne karakteristike i odrednice ovog pokreta, te utjecaj nadrealizma na različite grane umjetnosti. Naglasak je stavljen na fotografiju nadrealizma, njen početak i razvoj, te pojavu novih i karakterističnih tehnika koje su se koristile. Kroz analize neke od fotografija, uočavaju se zajednička obilježja i smjernice nadrealističkih fotografa. Praktični dio rada zamišljen je kao stvaranje vlastitih fotografija sa nadrealističkom atmosferom, ali koristeći digitalnu fotografiju te obradu sa računalnim programom Adobe Photoshop. Pokušavaju se imitirati tehnike nadrealista korištene u analognoj fotografiji.

Abstract in english:	Theoretical part of this thesis studies surrealism as a cultural movement within avant-garde art period. Introductory part explains relevant political, historical and social circumstances in which the movement occurred, as well as its development and spreading. Dadaism, a movement preceeding surrealism, is also a topic dealt with in this thesis, due to the fact that it is considered a harbinger of surrealism. Following chapters define main characteristics and points of this movement through artists' biographies, as well as the influence of surrealism on different art branches. Emphasis is put on surrealism photography, its beginnings and development, as well as occurrence of new and representative techniques used in the period. Analysis of photographs shows common characteristics and trends of surrealist photographers. Practical part of the paper is designed as a creation of own photographs using surrealist atmosphere, but while using digital photography and manipulation using Adobe Photoshop software, trying to imitate surrealist techniques used in analog photography.
