Abstract

U ovom diplomskom radu su uspoređena dva softvera (3ds Max i Blender) za 3D grafiku i animaciju s obzirom na izradu i animiranje 3D humanoidnog modela. Kroz faze modeliranja, teksturiranja, postavljanja kostura za animaciju i samog animiranja dan je uvid u sličnosti načina rada u softverima zbog čega je omogućena usporedba. Faze su relativno detaljno opisane i potom uspoređene s obzirom na prednosti i mane alata koji su korišteni i utrošeno vrijeme izrade. Cilj je bio pokazati da li besplatno softversko rješenje može odraditi posao kao i komercijalni softver u zadatku izrade i animiranja 3D humanoidnog lika. Rezultati su pokazali da besplatni sofver Blender može pratiti komercijalni softver 3ds Max u poslu izrade i animiranja 3D humanoidnog modela. U nekim fazama rada Blender je bio bolji izbor jer je brže dobiven finalni proizvod dok je u nekim fazama bio sporiji. Alati modeliranja, teksturiranja i dodavanja vlasi su se pokazali kao odličan izbor, dok su alati ostalih faza rada pokazali dobre rezultate, ali nešto slabije od 3ds Maxa. Blender je sveukupno pokazao da vremenski i kvalitetom prikaza može konkurirati 3ds Maxu u ovom konkretnom zadatku.

Abstract in english: In this thesis two software (3D Studio Max and Blender) for 3D graphics and animation are compared with regard to creating and animating 3D humanoid model. Through the stages of modeling, texturing, setting skeleton for animation and the animation itself an insight is given into the similarities of working methods for software. This enabled comparison of software. The stages are relatively explained in detail and then compared in view of the advantages and disadvantages of tools that are used and also in view of the time spent. The aim was to show whether free software solution can do the job as well as commercial software in the task of creating and animating 3D humanoid figure. The results showed that free software Blender can follow commercial software 3ds Max in the process of making and animating 3D humanoid model. In some stages Blender was a better choice because it quickly obtained final product while in some stages was slower. Tools for modeling, texturing and adding hair proved to be a great choice while the tools of other phases of work have shown good results, but something less than 3ds Max. Overall, Blender proved that its working time and the display quality can compete with 3ds Max in this particular task.
