Abstract
Fotografiranjem tijela bojom pretvorenog u umjetničko djelo pokušava se sačuvati taj jedinstveni rad prije nego voda ispere sve tragove njegovog postojanja.

Abstract in english: | Different cultures throughout history used the human body as a medium to express art because it was exciting to have a living, breathing and dancing canvas. The oldest way of artistic expression, use of one's own body, has been performed for a practical and spiritual purpose. From camouflage and imitation when hunting, painting symbols depicting tribal affiliation, decorating and accentuating sexuality and attraction, all the way to motives and colours which symbolise the spiritual world. The art of body painting includes artist's direct use of their own body or the body of another person as an object of an artwork. As such, in biological, psychological, physiological and social context, the human body becomes means, material and bearer of artist's ideas and intentions. In the realisation of body painting, an exclusive holder of the event is the body of an artist or a participant. Body painting artists express themselves through performances and actions often captured by photography and photo series, videos and movies. With photography, a unique artwork painted on a body is saved before the water washes away any trace of its existence. |
