Abstract

Abstract in english: | Goal of this master's thesis is to create a believable digital portrait. Being that this master's thesis shows process of creating a digital portrait, the first step is to define a term uncanny valley. Uncanny valley shows how humans percieve robots or digital people that are approximately identical to real people, but still have slight deviations or errors. Anatomy is also an indispensable part of realistic portraits. Although this thesis doesn't go too far into the anatomy, it shows the details that are essential to a global understanding of the anatomy of the human head. The practical part starts with photographing a subject. It's shown what equipment was used and what are the best practices to pose your model. Second part is focused on modeling a 3D head. Although we won't pose or animate a digital head in this thesis, we will create a correct 3D model that can be rigged and animated later on by animators. Finally, it shows how the digital portrait is illuminated and the end result. |
