Abstract

Gotova animacija bit će prezentirana u obliku videa.

Abstract in english: Animation is an image in motion. By displaying sequences of 2D and 3D images, or set model's positions, an illusion of motion is created. It is present in many commercials, in cinemas, on television, mobile phones and computers. It is a very popularr form of dynamic media and it is changing with the advancement of technology. Its beginnings date back to 1900s. What began as an appearance on the canvas, it gradually evolved into the illusion of characters with their own personage, sound, color and emotions. The most famous example of traditional animation is Walt Disney. His cartoons gradually evolved from silent to the world of color and sound, and as technology progressed, a new concept appeared – computer animation. The Pixar studio was founded, and it was specialized for 3D animation, which in short term of time gained on its popularity in the media and entertainment world. The theoretical part of this thesis will describe basic animation types – traditional, 2D and 3D animation, motion graphics and stop motion; supported by examples, and also a use of animation in Hollywood movies. Japanese animation will also be mentioned through animated films by studio Ghibli, and Zagreb film as a native area in industry, featuring a visit to the stop-motion studio in Savica 9-11, in Zagreb. In the experimental part of the thesis will be explained the detailed process of creating an animation, from the idea, storyboard, the alignment of sound with motion to the final product. The finished animation will be presented in video form.
