Abstract

Abstract in english: In this graduate, a survey was carried out on the adaptation of a tactile picture book to make it accessible to seeing children and blind children. By customizing the picture book it is very important to make it equally accessible to all groups. There are almost no picture books tailored for blind children, but those that are customized are stored in libraries and can’t be borrowed. If they are borrowed they must be returned as soon as possible. As part of the graduate thesis, a picture book was designed and adapted to both target groups. The picture book is customized in almost all segments: format, typography and color. Also in the picture book is a letter in Braille and in tactile colors. After the picture book was prepared in the illustrator and made available in the press, it was suggested to parents or respondents. Interviews were conducted and ten parents participated. Five parents of blind children and five parents of seeing children. Parents are selected for the needs of testing because they are the ones who can afford their children picture books, but also they are the ones who know what is best for their children. Parents were asked questions about the picture book to find out what they think about the adaptation of the picture book, whether it is practical for both groups, and whether children can learn from one another through the picture book. All research results are presented in the field of research findings and ultimately a conclusion on the conducted research was made.
