Abstract

Rad se bavi istraživanjem uloge animacije u početnim grafičkim korisničkim sučeljima video igara te utječe li ona na očekivanja ispitanika o video igara kojoj se, putem grafičkog korisničkog sučelja, pristupa. Prvi dio rada je teorijski pregled uporabe animacije u video igrama. Ukratko se obrađuje povijest animacije, video igara, te prezentira analiza postojećih primjera i znanstvena literatura na temu rada (video igre, istraživanja na temu animacije). U drugom dijelu rada prezentirani su rezultati istraživanja utjecaja animacije. Istraživanje je provedeno u dva dijela kroz tri online upitnika. Glavno istraživanje provedeno je ispitivanjem prototipova vlastitih animacija početnih grafičkih korisničkih sučelja kroz koje se provjeravao utjecaj animacije uz pomoć rezultata iz predistraživanja. Prema rezultatima, animacija utječe u određenoj mjeri na percepciju o video igara. Treba uzeti u obzir da su ciljana publika bili redoviti korisnici video igara.

Abstract in english: This paper researches the role of animation in video game main menus and whether it affects user expectation of a video game the main menu leads to. First part of the paper is theoretical research, forming a base for practical research. History of animation and video games was summarized, and existing examples and scientific literature were also found on the paper subject (video games, animation research). Second part is a practical research with results. The research was conducted in two parts through three online surveys. Subject of the main research were original animations of video game main menus. With the help of the first part of the research, the influence of these animations was checked for. According to the results, animation does affect user perception to a certain amount. It should be taken into an account that the target audience were regular video game players.
