Abstract

Material design je ideja dizajnera kompanije Google objavljena 2014. godine. Glavna obilježja su upotreba sjene za postizanje „dubine“, responzivne animacije i tranzicije te raspored na zaslonu temeljen na upotrebi mreže. Postoje i karakteristični elementi koji su predstavnici material designa, primjerice, lebdeći gumb koji ima fiksnu poziciju na zaslonu te je na z osi pozicioniran više od ostalih elemenata koji pregledavanjem prolaze ispod njega. Točno je određeno čemu služi koja komponenta, tj. kako se može, a kao ne može koristiti te ih na taj način treba upotrebljavati. Ovaj rad obrađuje temu kroz teorijski i eksperimentalni dio. Teorijski dio rada obuhvaća sam nastanak material designa i njegovu osnovnu ideju kao i informacije o pojedinoj komponenti i njihovoj primjeni u android mobilnim aplikacijama. Eksperimentalni dio rada uključuje izradu nekoliko ekrana koji čine aplikaciju te prikazuje pravilnu integraciju i upotrebu komponenti koje na taj način podižu korisničko iskustvo na višu razinu. Ekrani prikazuju osnovni izgled material komponenti, međutim, one se bojom te obrubom, sjenom i animacijama mogu dodatno prilagoditi brendu. Sami ekrani izrađeni su u prikladnim grafičkim programima.

Abstract in english: Material design was developed and published in 2014 by designers at Google. Main features of Material design are elevation of elements, responsive animations and transitions, as well as the layout made using the grid. Some components are characteristic for material design. The floating action button is one of them. All material components have a specified usage and rules that need to be followed. This thesis writes about the foundation of material design, how it all started and about the rules of using certain components and how they can be implemented to a certain layout. The experimental part od this thesis includes several screens of an android mobile application. The screens show the accurate usage of components and explains how the correct implementation influences a better user experience. Design showed on the screens is an example that uses the components in the simplest way. Adding color, borders, shadow and animations makes the design more interesting. That way designs can be modified to suit the preferences of a company or someone who requested the design. The screens are made using suitable graphics programs.
