Abstract

Abstract in english: Visibility of a system status is one of the most important principles of user interfaces design, and for that purpose most often are used progress indicators that inform users about the status of current process. Default loading indicators (like a circular indicator in operating system iOS, where the grey lines radiate from the midpoint) usually have negative connotations, but those indicators are most often used as an integrated element into graphical representations of commands, where they represent a connection between the system status and the user. To make progress indicators match representation of commands, it is necessary to create a microinteraction consisting of: the trigger (initiates microinteraction), rules (they determine how will it work), feedback and loops and modes. Animation in microinteractions indicates a behavioral model according to which microinteraction works or interacts with the user about the microinteraction structure, about what to expect, about the sequence of actions, about the duration of the process, etc. Using an integrated indicator command always provides some kind of feedback, it informs users that they need some time to process or to execute the command. There are two main advantages: they reduce user insecurities (the application assures the user that it works) and they offer a reason to wait and by doing that they affect the perception of user’s time (the application provides distraction to user while waiting).
