Abstract
Diplomski rad se bavi naslovnicom stripova te njihovim mnogim varijacijama kroz godine, s naglaskom na stripove superherojskog žanra, točnije mnogobrojnim herojima i negativcima Marvel i DC svjetova. Kroz povijesni razvoj medija će rad nastojati prikazati tri stoljeća tijekom kojih se medij razvijao, kao i značajni primjeri koji su eventualno utjecali na stripove današnjice. Spomenuti razvoj će se usporediti sa suvremenim varijantama jednakog ili sličnog žanra. Sljedeće poglavlje se fokusira na naslovnice, točnije njihovu vrijednost kao umjetničko djelo, ali i kao način komuniciranja sadržaja (ili njegovog manjka) čitatelju. Nekoliko često prisutnih elemenata naslovnica će se dodatno istaknuti i proučiti, uz spomen relevantnih primjera industrije i vezane priče. Konačno, rezultati provedene ankete će se proučiti, s ciljem dokazivanja efikasnosti pristupa kojim se mnogi izdavači stripova koriste, pogotovo prema osobama koji nisu upoznati sa žanrom ili medijem.

| Abstract in english: | This study addresses covers of comic books and their many variations throughout the years, with an emphasis on comics of the superhero genre, specifically the multiple heroes and villains of the Marvel and DC worlds. In the historical development of the medium, the study will showcase the three centuries during which the medium developed, as well as significant examples that eventually influenced the modern comic book world. The aforementioned progression will be juxtaposed with its contemporary variants in the same or adjacent genre. The following section will focus on the covers themselves, as an art form as well as a way of communicating its contents (or the lack thereof) to the reader. Several common elements of the covers will be examined closely, with relevant examples in the industry, and their story. Finally, results from a conducted poll will be examined closely, with the goal of proving whether the approach that many comic publishers use is efficient or not, especially to readers that are not familiar with the genre or medium.v |
