Abstract
Samostalno snima i brojne tematski definirane fotografske serije anonimnih osoba kojima nastoji osvijestiti javnost određenim društvenim problemima ili istaknuti marginalizirane dijelove društva. Jedinstvenošću autorovog stila, njegov opus predstavlja izvrsnu građu za analizu estetskih, tehničkih, semantičkih i socioloških aspekata, kao i komparativnu analizu radova autora i istaknutih autorovih fotografskih uzora; Hille i Bernda Bechera, Augusta Sandera i Richarda Avedona.

Abstract in english: | This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the work of German portrait photographer Martin Schoeller, who gained recognition in photographic circles, media audiences, as well as publishers in the cultural industry at the end of the 20th century, based on his typified portrait style. His unique style is characterized by extreme close-up portraits shot in a combination of strictly defined lighting and technical conditions. Widely recognised, he was commissioned to shoot many celebrities from the worlds of film, music, sports and politics. He also independently shoots numerous thematically defined photographic series of anonymous persons with which he tries to make the public awareness of certain social problems or to highlight marginalized parts of society. With the uniqueness of the author's style, his opus represents an excellent material for the analysis of aesthetic, technical, semantic and sociological aspects, as well as a comparative analysis of the author's works and prominent author's photographic role models; Hilla and Bernd Becher, August Sander and Richard Avedon. |
