Abstract

Dizajn u funkciji okoliša teži smanjenju nepovoljnog utjecaja na okoliš kroz čitav životni ciklus proizvoda, zadržavajući ili povećavajući njegovu funkcionalnost i vrijednost. Kako bi utvrdili koliko je određeni proizvod ekološki nepovoljan, on prolazi kroz određene analize. Sa rezultatima analize, dizajneri lakše mogu prosuditi koliko se njihova ideja dizajna određenog proizvoda može poboljšati, te uočiti manjkavosti ili prednosti tuđih idejnih rješenja. Korisna upotreba materijala i minimalna količina otpada važni su ciljevi u stvaranju proizvodnog procesa. Materijali koje najčešće susrećemo u izradi grafičkih proizvoda su papir, boje i plastika. Opisan je njihov sastav i utjecaj na zagađenje tla, voda, zraka, a time i živih organizama. Važan aspekt je i upotreba energije, koja se troši kroz čitav životni vijek tiskanog proizvoda.

Abstract in english: Design as a function of the environment aiming to minimise the adverse environmenmental impacts during the whole life cycle of a product while maintaining or increasing its functionality or value. If we want to establish the extent to which the product is environmentally negative, product passes through certain analysis. With a result of a analysis, designers can easily judge how their idea of a product design can improve and recognize the faults or virtues of other concepts. The efficient use of materials and minimal amount of waste are important targets in developing the production processes. Materials which are usually found in graphical products are paper, ink and plastics. Here is described by their composition and effect on soil pollution, water, air, and living organisms. An important aspect is the use of energy consumed throughout the life of printed products.
