Abstract

Abstract in english: IPPC directive of the European Union resembles a significant change in the approach to management of pollution, with emphasis on prevention of pollution at its source. Demands set by the directive have a significant influence on the legislature and industry of the EU countries and its potential members. Stricter environmental laws require constant adaptation of flexography’s ecological aspect. Flexographic printing is improving its market share thanks to better quality of print and possiblity of printing on wide range of printing substrates. One of the greatest obstacles to greater popularity of flexography is its negative environmental impact, particularly VOC emissions and water pollution. This work presents IPPC directive and its impact on the legislature of Croatia, environmental aspect of flexographic printing and new tehnologies in that field whose goal is to improve its quality and reduce the negative environmental impact.
