Abstract

Tehnologija elektroničkog papira razvila se u sedamdesetim godinama prošlog stoljeća, ali tek sada njena primjena u komercijalnoj proizvodnji počinje rasti. Ova tehnologija ima razne primjene, ali za sada najvažnija je u obliku zaslonske tehnologije za čitače elektroničkih knjiga. Veliki potencijal ove tehnologije prepoznale su gotovo sve vodeće kompanije za proizvodnju mobilnih uređaja, računala i sličnih naprava, te su tako otvorile jedno potpuno novo tržište za prodaju i razvoj nove vrste elektroničkih naprava. U ovome radu opisuje se razvoj te tehnologije, različite vrste te tehnologije, razni tehnološki napredci i razne primjene te mogući razvoj u budućnosti. Također su opisani trenutačno najpopularniji, najznačajniji i najprodavaniji čitači elektroničkih knjiga.

Abstract in english: Electronic paper technology has developed in the seventies in the last century, but only now it's implementation in comercial production is beginning to grow. This technology has different applications, but for now the most important application is in the shape of displays for electronic book readers. The great potencial of this technology has been recognised by all the leading companies for production of mobile devices, computers and similar devices, thus opening a whole new market for selling and developing the new kind of electronic devices. This paper is describing the development of this technology, it's different kinds, different technological advances and possible implementations and development in the future. It also describes the most popular, most significant and bestselling e readers at the moment.
