Abstract

Dokumentarna fotografija je od svog nastanka uvelike obilježila ljudsku povijest dokumentirajući realno stanje kroz svoj vizualni prikaz. Ona od svojih početaka igra važnu ulogu u ljudskoj povijesti. Takva je vrsta fotografije često posvećena društveno ugroženim skupinama, prikazujući uvjete njihovog života i rada kao nešto sramotno, diskriminirajuće i nepravedno. To su, na primjer, rad djece, beskućništvo ili siromaštvo. Siromašni socijalni izopćenici su prikazivani s namjerom da izazovu određene društvene i političke promjene. Zapravo, dokumentarna fotografija za cilj ima utrti put društvenim promjenama. Ovaj diplomski rad objašnjava novinsku i dokumentarnu fotografiju kroz povijest te utjecaj razvoja tehnološke opreme na njihov razvoj. Također, objašnjavaju se njihove sličnosti i razlike kao i današnja pozicija u društvu. Ovaj diplomski rad objašnjava novinsku i dokumentarnu fotografiju kao zasebne i važne oblike fotografskog izražavanja s osvrtom na snagu, učinak i tumačenje njezine poruke. Također, spominje najveći svjetski festival novinske fotografije – World Press Photo. Iako oba stila nastoje prikazati socijalne i političke događaje koji utječu na društvo, linija koja ih razdvaja nije jasno određena i ponekad uopće ne postoji. U praktičnom dijelu snimaju se fotografije ljudi u gradu Mostaru i užoj i široj okolici. Cilj je postići što kvalitetnije fotografije koje će promatraču što efikasnije prenijeti socijalnu poruku.

Abstract in english:	Documentary photography has huge influence on human history from its beginnings. It documents the real situation through its visual presentation. It plays an important role in human history. That kind of photography is often devoted to socially disadvantaged groups, showing the conditions of them lifes as something shameful, discriminatory and unfair. There are, for example, child labor, homelessness or poverty. Poor social outcasts are screened to induce certain social and political changes. In fact, documentary photography’s aim is to pave the way for social changes. This thesis will explain documentary photography and photojournalism through the history and development impact of technological equipment at their development. Also it will be explained their similarities and difference and today’s position in society. This thesis will explain documentary photography and photojournalism like a distinct and important forms of photographic expression with reference to the power, performance and interpretation of its message. Also, it will mention the world's largest festival of photojournalism - World Press Photo. Although both styles tend to show social and political effects that influence the society, the line between them is not clearly defined, and sometimes doesn’t even exist. In a practical part, some photography will be taken in Mostar and his metropolitan area. Autor want to achieve the highest quality photos which can convey the social message effectively.
