Abstract

Popularnost lomografije konstantno raste.

Abstract in english: A few decades ago a new artistic approach to photography spontaneously appeared on Vienna's scene. It broke all the traditional principles of photography. A group of Viennese students formed it after the discovery of a Russian compact camera, the LOMO LC-A, after which it was named lomography. Lomographic photographs can be recognized by darkened corners (vignettes), high contrast, saturated and unusual colours. They are taken with low-quality analogue lomographic cameras often entirely made of plastic. Nevertheless, their uniqueness let's them sucessfully find place on a market led by technological innovations with digital technology on the rise. The popularity of lomography grows constantly. Today it already achieved the status of a cult brand and globally active organisation devoted exclusively to analog experimental photography that connects users from all over the world through the Internet. Many people believe lomography saved film photography from an untimey end. Except the historical aspect and significance of lomography, the classical process of photographing is described in this thesis - from camera and film selection to the final image. The majority of lomographic cameras and existing films are presented, as well as characteristic lomo effects, techniques and possible final outputs of the image.
