Abstract

Abstract in english: This writing covers the content adjustment of printed and digital media for visually impaired people. Printed document should be formatted in a way that makes it easier for visually impaired people to read which does not necessary need to disrupt the design. Just a few points larger font size allows better readability without interfering with the document layout. Besides font size it’s quite important not to emphasize words too often with bold or italic letters that drastically aggravate readability. Appropriate color choice with great mutual contrast is recommended with printed and digital media, especially on websites that contain certain amount of photographs alongside textual content. World Wide Web Consortium has issued a number of rules that specify the adjustment of content on websites and the European Union issued a decision that obligates all official institutions of the Union to comply with the given rules when designing their websites. Practical part of the writing includes the development of a browser plugin that allows adjustment of website content for visually impaired. This includes changing the background color as well as the text color using the results of color and contrast research that visually impaired perceive the best.
