Abstract

U ovom radu obrađeno je pitanje održivosti i održivog razvoja te procjena životnog ciklusa (LCA), njen cilj, glavne faze i načini oblikovanja okvira. Nadalje, studira se održiva proizvodnja i potrošnja plastike kao i njena primjena, posebice što se tiče ambalaže. Rad se također bavi i pitanjem krutog plastičnog otpada odnosno brigom za okoliš i zatvaranjem životnog ciklusa plastike. Recikliranje krutog plastičnog otpada obrađuje se kroz četiri glavna pravca: ponovna ekstruzija, mehaničko i kemijsko recikliranje te obnova energije.

Abstract in english:	This paper discusses the issue of sustainability and sustainable development and life cycle assessment (LCA), its goal, the main phases and general modelling framework. Furthermore, sustainable consumption and production of plastics is studied as well as the application of plastics especially the most important application - packaging. This paper also deals with the question of plastic solid waste (PSW), environmental concerns and closing the life cycle of plastics. Recycling of PSW is covered through four main routes: re-extrusion, mechanical and chemical recycling and energy recovery.
