Abstract

Sustav mreža kakav poznajemo danas, razvio se u zapadnim zemljama za vrijeme industrijske revolucije, no mreže su bile u upotrebi puno prije no što je grafički dizajn postao znanstvena disciplina. Primarna uloga grafičkog dizajna jest komunikacija, tj. prijenos informacije od pošiljatelja (dizajnera) do primatelja (korisnika) uz što manje buke (u ovom slučaju, vizualne buke) u komunikacijskom kanalu. Ovim radom se kroz kratki povijesni pregled razvoja mreža, pregled načina konstrukcije i dekonstrukcije osnovnih vrsta mreža, te rezultatima eksperimentalnog dijela (ankete), želi objasniti važnost poznavanja sustava mreža u vizualnoj kulturi danas, te istaknuti kako je poznavanje iste jednako bitno za dizajnere, kao i za krajnje korisnike kojima su informacije unutar idejnog rješenja kompozicije i namjenjene. Cilj ovog rada je pokazati kako sustav mreža nudi nebrojene mogućnosti da prilikom kreiranja idejnog rješenja dizajner postigne svoj cilj tj. prenošenje poruke promišljenom organizacijom, kroz primjerenu strukturu i hijerarhiju, koja će i od strane korisnika biti dobro prihvaćena.

Abstract in english:	The grid system as we know it today, was developed in Western countries during the Industrial Revolution, but they were in use long before graphic design became a scientific discipline. The primary role of graphic design is communication, sending information from a sender (designers) to recipients (users) with a minimum of noise (in this case, the visual noise) in the communication channel. This thesis is a brief historical overview of the development of grids and on the construction and deconstruction of the basic types of grids. The results of the experimental part (surveys), explains the importance of grids in the visual culture today, and how they are important to designers and also to recipients of the information. Goal of this thesis is to show how a grid system offers countless possibilities in creating the conceptual design and how designers can create good design projects with appropriate structure and hierarchy, which will be well accepted by the users.
