Abstract

Ovaj diplomski rad obrađuje i istražuje temu fanzina u ulozi samo-promotivnog sredstva u polju grafičkog dizajna, što je fanzine uopće, što je „uradi sam“ (DIY) kultura unutar koje je fanzina nastao i koja je njegov sastavni dio. Prikazan je povijesni razvoj fanzina i istovremeno njegova kulturološka uloga, te koliko se ta uloga promijenila do danas da bi time fanzine uopće i mogao postati sredstvom samo-promocije. Navode se i definiraju pojavni oblici fanzina u ulozi samo-promotivnog sredstva, te se analiziraju njegove prednosti i nedostaci u odnosu na neke standardne (DIY) oblike samo-promocije u polju grafičkog dizajna. Također, analizira se mogućnost distribucije ovakve publikacije do krajnjih korisnika, te se navode predviđanja o budućnosti ovakve publikacije u ulozi samo-promotivnog sredstva bilo da se radi o njegovom digitalnom obliku u vidu e-zinea u ulozi mape radova ili o njegovom tiskanom obliku kao portfolio. Praktični dio rada donosi osvrt na izradu vlastitog, personaliziranog fanzina u ulozi mape radova, dok eksperimentalni dio donosi prikaz istraživanja opće upoznatosti publike sa fanzinom kao publikacijom i njihovo viđenje korisnosti fanzina kao samo-promotivnog sredstva, anketu, te dobivene rezultate sa zaključcima provedenog istraživanja.

Abstract in english: This masters thesis deals with and explores the therm fanzine in its role as self-promotional tool in the field of graphic design. What is a fanzine, what is "do it yourself" (DIY) culture within which fanzine was originally created and it is its integral part. What was the historical development of the fanzine and also its cultural role and how that role has changed to this days that enabled fanzine to even become self- promotional tool. This thesis lists and defines fanzine forms in their role of self-promotional tool, and analyzes their advantages and disadvantages compared to some standard (DIY) tools of self-promotion in the field of graphic design. Also, it analyzes fanzine distributions to its end users, and state predictions about the future of this publication in its role of self-promotional tool either in its digital form as an e-zine in the role of the artwork portfolio or in its printed form as the artwork portfolio . The practical part of this thesis contains a references of creating personalized fanzine in the role of artwork portfolio, and as for the experimental part of this thesis it gives an overview of the general familiarity of the audience with the fanzine as a publication, and their perceptions of the usefulness of fanzine as a self-promotional tool, survey, and the results obtained with the conclusions that are conducted in this research.
