Abstract

Istraţivanje teoretskog dijela ujedno je i stvaranje pregleda korištenja produljene ekspozicije u fotografiji, a prati ga eksperimentalno promatranje korelacije brzine objekta, količine svjetla i vremena osvjetljavanja. Ona predstavlja odnos otvora objektiva i vremena eksponiranja, i, uz osjetljivost filma (odnosno senzora), čini osnovni alat na samom aparatu kojim odreĎujemo izgled naše fotografije.

Abstract in english: It is said that photography captures a moment, and how long this moment will last depends on exposure. High shutter speeds enable us to freeze a moment, capture the object in motion which is sharply cut out of the piece of time. On the other hand, leaving the shutter opened for a long time, one is able to capture a trail that moves through space and time. Exploration of the theoretical side is also a review on different usages of exposure in photography and is followed by experimental analysis of the correlation between subject in motion, amount of light hitting the sensor or film, and the duration of passing light. The goal of this exploration is to bring in relation the time of exposure and the variable results following different types and usages of photography, and to show many variable techniques which are used when dealing with manipulation of exposure by exploring different relations between the time of exposure as a source and amount of blur that is gotten as an effect. Exposure is the amount of light that is let through the lens on a digital sensor or analog film. It represents the relation between apperature and shutter speed and together with ISO ( how sensible to light the sensor is ) makes up a standard tool that is used in photography with which we determine the look and the feel of our photograph. Long exposure represents the fourth dimension which is time. This phenomenon is used by almost all of photographers in a more or less frequent manner. From this many different directions in photography emerged, like astrophotography or painting with light, but especially it is used to capture light sources when it is dark or to highten the dynamics of a landscape photograph, waterfalls, different subject movements, and other art photography. Even though it is most characteristical to be used at night, prolonged exposure is also usable during the day, when used with special natural density filters. The review of different techniques used by famous photographers in given context, and it's reproduction in praxis, will give us insight into the usage and different possibilities of prolonged exposure through many different types of photography.
