Abstract
Totalna fotografija kombinira klasične i digitalne fotografske tehnike.

Abstract in english: | Total Photography combines the classic and digital photography techniques. This work is conceptualized as an overview of a segment which describes the conversion of analogue data (in this case – the film) into digital. Digitalization of film was abstracted as a stand-alone area because of its' specificities (due to extremely high resolutions per surface unit there are justified technical and technological requirements for quality transfer of analogue data into digital with as little data loss as possible). In this thesis the transparencies (the film) are being analyzed as a medium for analogue data insctiption. The subjects that the meaning of film in general is defined, technological overview of film types, and digitalization requirements are defined by the film itself. The technology of film digitalization in relation to technological solutions (flatbed, linear CCD, CCD with optics, rotational scanners etc.) is also analyzed. As well as the advantages and limitations of each tech solution. The practical part of work includes developing transparencies of basic film types (a couple of pre-defined motifs photographed using black and white film, color film and color slides), their digitalization using the relevant scanners and analysis of acquired results (comparation of attained results shows capabilites and limitations of film as a medium and scanner as a technology in converting analogue data into digital). The characteristics of acquired digital photography data and its' application in the field of total photography is being discussed as well. |
