Abstract in english:	Development of new print technologies (ink-jet systems) has established new quality standards following users’ requirements. For the full implementation of new technologies in the production of official nautical charts, it is necessary to examine their characteristics to keep the quality of obtained products equal to that of charts obtained by offset printing. The quality of print should be examined in order to minimize the possibility of errors (colour wiping and loss of important maritime information), keeping adequate standards. In recent years, the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia has carried out research into the durability and quality of prints, for the purpose of practical use of inkjet system.
