Abstract

Abstract in english: The process of creating banknotes is long and complicated, which results in complex solutions that actually represent a true masterpiece of graphics. Banknotes contain numerous details and communicate a variety of information that will be analyzed in the theoretical part of this thesis. Originally set criteria by which detailed analysis is made, analysis of a large number of security and conceptual elements on the examples of banknotes. This provides a framework of historical overview about development of banknotes and it shows influences that it was exposed. The interdependence of design and security features also is analyzed, also the level of public awareness about banknote security features. It brings to the conclusion which protection methods are most effective, and how the general public usually check banknote security features. The experimental part of the work is based on the adopted conclusions from the theoretical part as to create a digital banknote prototype. Prototype contains individualized Postscript solutions for vector graphics elements (rosettes, micro typography, security lines, numbers denomination) and from the other protections - individualized screen element is modeled by transformation of mathematical expression to the PostScript program code. All other types of protection that are typical for banknotes are simulated by tools for pixel and vector graphics. This work is testing the impact of the composition of security features in banknote authenticity recognition, and the effectiveness of individualized software solutions itself.
