Abstract

Cilj rada "Dizajn koncepata za videoigre i filmove" bio je istražiti i opisati parametre workflow-a istih digitalnih proizvoda. Za potrebe rada opisale su se tehnike dizajniranja i načini stvaranja novih ideja koristeći sve raspoložive medije. Također prikazalo se kako se te ideje implementiraju u završni proizvod korištenjem 3D modela animacijom, kostimografijom i sl. U radu je bilo ključno objasniti razliku između ilustracije i concept arta, te pojasniti pojmove koji se danas često koriste unutar same industrije te za njih ne postoji adekvatan prijevod na hrvatskome jeziku. Posebna pozornost bila je usmjerena kako bi se prikazala povezanost dizajna s nizom različitih pravila koja se mogu primjenjivati u različitim kategorijama kreativnoga stvaranja od industrijskog do grafičkog dizajna, te kako bi se istaknula važnost videoigara i filmova u današnjem sve više tehnološki orijentiranom društvu.

Abstract in english: The end goal of the "Concept design for video games and movies" thesis was to research parameters of the workflow these digital products have. For the purpose of this work various techniques of designing and ways of constructing new ideas using all accessible mediums were described. Also implementing these ideas into the finished product using 3D models, animation, VFX or cosmetics were shown. Making a point about the difference between illustration and concept art was a top priority as well as explaining certain terms that don't yet have an adequate translation in the Croatian language. Special attention was pointed towards presenting the connection of concept design with a wide variety of rules that are applicable in various different design branches, stemming from industrial all the way to graphic design, and also to point out the importance of video games and movies in todays technologically orientated society.
