Abstract

Abstract in english: In order to come to a conclusion, which of the media – printed book, electronic (e-book) or audio book, is optimal for transmission of information, it is required to investigate the efficiency of the transmission of each of the mentioned media. As all the people are different, each individual will react differently to the information. Some people respond better to visual information, such as images or texts – which is the case with printed books; or interactivity, audio and video contents of electronic books; or just the sound of audio books. For some users, images, sounds or video contents can provide additional information, but they can also often confuse, distract or even influence the reader's opinion before even reading the content. Therefore, it is important to investigate and conclude the optimal way of transmission of the information of each of the mentioned media, as each of them has a specific way of displaying and transferring the information, by using various multimedia technologies such as texts, graphics, video and audio, interactivity and similar. The focus of the research will be to test the efficiency of transmission of information through mentioned multimedia contents, but also by covering the factors that can impair the transmission. As a part of the research, a small printed book, an e-book and an audio book will be made and used for testing the information consumption on a group of users under normal and difficult conditions. Also a survey will be made to test the users' knowledge of multimedia contents within the mentioned media, their impact on the users and the success of the information transmission from the given media.
