Abstract

Svojim diplomskim radom predstavila sam jedno izuzetno područje fotografije, koje susrećemo svakodnevno a da toga nismo ni svjesni. Fotonovinarstvo je sveprisutno u današnje doba i svakodnevno nam servira vizualne informacije o događajima u svijetu. Fotoesej, kao vid novinske fotografije, rijetko je zastupljen u novinama. Uglavnom ga viđamo u časopisima poput National Geographic,a nudi nam bogatstvo fotografija popraćenih s više ili manje teksta. Ovom je radu priložen autorski fotoesej kojim je ispričana jedna tradicionalna proslava romskog najvećeg blagdana, Đurđevdana. Iako u novinskoj fotografiji najčešće susrećemo crno-bijelu fotografiju, odlučila sam se za boju. Smatram da sam na taj način uspjela bolje prikazati vedro raspoloženje i bogatstvo boja, što je uobičajeno za romsku kulturu. Nastojala sam na pomalo neobičan način, makar na jedan dan, približiti ovu interesantnu manjinu svakome od nas.

Abstract in english:	With my thesis I've presented remarkable part of photography which we can often see without even being aware of it. Photojournalism is ubiquitous in our everyday life and it delivers us a visual information about worldwide events every day. Photoessay is a mode of photojournalism which is rarely seen in newspapers. Usualy, we can find it in magazines like National Geographic, which contains a pile of photos associated with more or less words. In this thesis there is a personal photoessay attached to it. It shows a traditional celebration of the Gypsy St. George's day. Although in photojournalism we mostly see B&W photos, I've decided to show it in colour. This way it is much better shown their joy- and colourful culture. I tried to show on unconventional way, even for a one day, one of the most intriguing minoritys to each one of us.
