Abstract

Abstract in english: The aim of the research in this graduate work was to analyze the quality of prints obtained with waterless offset printing technique which is compared with the conventional offset technique still under‐represented in our country. Given the absence of dampening solution, technique is environmentally friendly, and the strain of raster elements are significantly less, resulting in print sharpness and smaller dot gain. If we add more the benefits of DI technology, the question is why this modern technology is not more represented in graphic production. Complete theoretical part is based on existing research which conclusions compared with classical offset printing technique in principle are always the same: high quality with more advantages than disadvantages. However, the experimental part will show that, like any printing technique, quality depends on so many factors. Considering that, without proper adjustments of the press, the quality of materials (printing substrate, printing form, rubber blanket or printing ink) and experienced printer, it is not possible to achieve a high quality print. Analysis of the quality of the prints in this research is based on the following quality indicators: optical density, dot gain, rage of tone value and grey balance.
